You're a Gem

The inspiration for this design came from Mary Fish's blog. The owl and true friend images come from the Punch Bunch Sale-a-Bration exclusive set.  The "You're a Gem" sentiment is from the set of the same name from the Occasions mini catalog.  The Basic Gray glimmer brads finish off the card.

Lucky Shamrock Card

This card features the Lucky Shamrock a la carte stamp from the Occasions mini catalog.  We love the a la carte stamps for their economic benefit.  The Pear Pizzazz background was embossed using the Stampin' Up! exclusive Perfect Details Big Shot Texturz Plate.

O' Christmas Tree

This card demonstrates a perfect use for all of those scraps of DSP!  This Christmas tree was designed using circles from the 1" punch.  Although the DSP is retired, any coordinating patterned papers will work.  The star at the top is a miscellaneous brad from our vast stash of embellishments (I'm sure all of you can relate).  The tree trunk was made using a punch from the word window with one rounded end snipped off.  Quick & easy!

These are the other two pages that we'll be doing in our "Give Thanks" class on Sunday, 11/21.  These pages use LOTS of FUN STUFF...Autumn Spice Specialty DSP, Day of Gratitude and Grateful Greetings stamp sets, Tasteful Trim die, 2 1/2" circle punch, curly label punch, decorative label punch, 1" circle punch, and 5/8" Old Olive grosgrain ribbon.  The die-cut letters are not Stampin' Up, but are an Sizzlit strip die and cut with the Big Shot.

Spooky Top Note Banner

It's so hard to believe that Halloween is almost here, where did the month go already?!  Here is a home decor banner we made last year, and how great that it can be used year after year!  As you can see, it uses the Top Note dies, which are threaded together using the 1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon.  The spider was made using the round tab punch (legs) and the 1" circle punch.  Sorry, the die cut letters and scalloped ovals are not Stampin' Up!, but something similar can always be substituted.  We wish you and your family a safe and Happy Halloween!

Happy World Card Making Day! Happy Fall!

Today we celebrate World Card Making Day!  Make sure you take the time today, even if only a few minutes, to sit down and make a card!  This time of year in some parts of the country marks the end of summer and the beginning of fall.  Here in Las Vegas, we are still experiencing triple-digit temperatures (you'd think we'd be used to after 40+ years!).  We love the colors that are associated with fall and the amazing images of leaves, trees, and nature in general.  The colors are so rich and warm.  One of the MANY things that we love about being Stampin' Up! demonstrators is the wonderful resources we have available to us.  Each month, we receive a demonstrator publication - Stampin' Success.  It is packed with a variety of information that we need to know to conduct our business, but it also contains some great card and project ideas made by fellow demonstrators and company employees.  The first photo shows an idea that was featured in this month's edition by Lyssa Zwolanek.  We took the simplicity of it and transformed it into our own version for Thanksgiving using the Day of Gratitude set and our favorite Teeny Tiny Wishes set.  The original colors used by Lyssa were So Saffron, Cajun Craze, and Soft Suede.  Our version uses River Rock, Cajun Craze, Wild Wasabi, and Chocolate Chip.  Enjoy your day!

Wicked Cool and Fun Halloween Card

This card uses the Wicked Cool stamp set and the Wicked Fun Designer Series Paper.  The great design idea came from fellow demonstrator Mary Brady.  The sentiment was punched out with the 1" circle punch, and is layered on multiple shapes: 1 1/4" circle, 1 3/8" circle, curly label, and the modern label.  It's finished off with some 1/4" Old Olive grosgrain ribbon and Basic Rhinestones.  The hats and stockings are colored in using an Old Olive Stampin Write Marker.
